I’m Jeroen from Salesflare and this is Founder Coffee.
Every two weeks, I have coffee with a different founder. We discuss our lives, our passions, what we’ve learned, … in an intimate interview, to get to know the person behind the company.
For this fortieth episode, I spoke kuwait phone number data with a very special guest, Jason Fried, co-founder and CEO of Basecamp, the famous project management and communications platform.
Jason loves creating things he enjoys and selling them to others like him. He started out selling stereo equipment and cordless phones and now sells software to help teams work better.
The very first thing we did when Segmenting your customers is a task that involves we started Salesflare was read his first book, almost a manifesto, called Getting Real, which shaped a lot of our early thinking at Salesflare, so I’m really excited to have him on the show.
We talk about the right way to work remotely, why he prioritizes sustainable growth over investor-driven growth, and how to apply stoicism in life and business.
Welcome to Founder Coffee.

Jeroen:
Hello everyone, we’re live today with Jason Fried from Basecamp. Hello, Jason!
Jason:
Good morning.
Jeroen:
We’re so excited to have you here sms to data at Founder Coffee and today we’re even recording this interview live in the SaaS Growth Hacks group on Facebook. You’re the co-founder and CEO of Basecamp and for the few people listening who don’t know yet, what exactly do you do at Basecamp?
Jason:
Sure. We’ve been working on Basecamp for about 20 years. The product has been around for 16 or 17 years. For most people, Basecamp is a project management tool. It’s a place where you can track all the work that needs to be done, who’s responsible for doing it, when things are done, all the discussions about the project in one place – the documents, the files, the calendars, all of these things are happening in one place. What makes Basecamp different from most other tools is that it puts everything in one place. So all the tools that you need, chat, messaging, tasks, scheduling, file storage, all of that stuff, are in Basecamp. You don’t need four or five or six separate tools that are trying to fit together just to make a project work, and that’s the whole point of Basecamp.
