Dux-Soup started when Will wanted to help his wife reach out to potential customers for her business. As a developer, he built tools to scrape various sites, such as Yahoo, Yellow Pages, and LinkedIn. When he introduced his software to others, he saw interest in LinkedIn scraping and decided to specialize in it.
Despite the uncertainty of building continue getting valuable information to captivate a tool on top of another platform, especially unofficially, Dux-Soup has now been around for five years and has garnered over 60,000 users on its software.
We discuss how to build a remote team, why Dux-Soup employs mostly freelancers, why their product is priced lower than their competitors, how Chrome is setting the standards for the internet, and why listening is the most important skill for a founder.
