Trailhead Academy Bootcamp is an event that Salesforce has been organizing for some time. It is usually held in conjunction with another major event! such as Dreamforce. It is a multi-day intensive training focused on a specific group of professionals from the Salesforce ecosystem. For example! Developers! Administrators or Marketing Cloud consultants. In the spirit of Salesforce’s “tourist” branding! they are called “trails”. It also includes the opportunity to get one or two certifications .

This time there were several firsts: the bootcamp was the rich people database first time in Europe and the first time it had paths for architects. I planned a rather demanding program. I chose the path for system architects (integration! identity! …)! but I decided to take the exams for application architects (data! sharing! ..). So I had to prepare myself in advance. I then wanted to use the bootcamp as an aid in preparing for the remaining certifications from the entire “architect’s path” (except for CTA of course! that’s music from the distant future).
Day 0
The whole program started on Sunday afternoon with the first opportunity for certifications. I arrived after lunch and! since I had been to Barcelona several times before! I went straight to La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou! where the Bootcamp was taking place at the fancy Arts Hotel in Port Olímpic. I had arranged my accommodation just a few blocks away to make the journey as short as possible. But as it turned out! even 5 minutes is not close enough. It started to rain so much that I arrived at the registration and the first exam completely soaked anyway.
The excitement of the atmosphere of my first event organized directly by Salesforce and the gifts we all received helped me relax a bit before the first exam. I passed it with flying colors – Data Architecture and Management Designer – check.

Day 1
I’m already there before eight. Salesforce treats us to a after creating the ebook, how do you promote it on the internet? delicious breakfast and the hall is gradually starting to fill up. Those who took Sunday off have already arrived. There are about 350 of us in total. I also met Guiseppe ! with whom we talked in August at Czech Dreamin’.
At 9 the first part of the lesson starts. We meet our instructor for the next 4 days. Amit Malik has a lot of experience in training and he handled our System Architect course really well. His main motto was: “I don’t care if you pass the exam or not. That’s not what we’re here for. I’ll teach you to think like an architect”.

The first day we covered basic concepts and terminology. It’s important to call things by the names other architects understand. At first! it might have seemed a bit superficial and not very consistent! but as the day went on! it all started to fall into place. Amit really knows what he’s doing.
In the evening! there was also a learning space available thailand data for those who were interested in preparing more for Thursday’s exams. There were always plenty of Salesforce experts around! either from the community or Salesforce employees themselves. Everyone was willing to discuss and advise on how to prepare well and what to focus on.
